Grace! - Poem's that change life!

Grace! by HubPages © 2008 SirDent

Thrusting through blackness

Reaching for the light,

Satan's against me

I keep up the fight.

Knowing You are there

Keeps me cruising strong,

Warring with Satan

Whose time isn't long,

Leniency shown in

Everything You do,

Grace is adequate

Because it's from You.

Able to forgive

Our abundant sins,

Bring us righteousness

Not to sin again

Love is what You give

To those who receive.

Watch out for Satan

He'll always deceive,

Setting traps and snares

For each child of God,

Trying to trip us

Yea, he likes to prod

Knowing we merit

Death, hell, and the grave,

Jesus gave it all

So we can be saved

He died on the cross

Alone and in pain,

My sins cast away

I'm no longer stained.

Eph. 2:8 "For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God"

I am grateful for His grace....You know I love ya, Don

Christmas is a time for living!!!

Christmas is a time for Love; a time for Joy and Peace;
A time to trim the Christmas Tree and a time to stuff the geese.
It's a time when we can come together, however far or near;
To shed a little hope into a world of sorrow and fear.

Yet Christmas could be all year 'round, if only we would try
To gently wipe an old man's brow or soothe a baby's cry.
If we could smile throughout the year as we do on Christmas Day;
Just think what happiness we'd shed along life's weary way.

To give a gift of Hope to one who otherwise has none;
To be a Friend to somebody whom everyone else has shun.
To be Forgiving of our faults, and of our sisters and our brothers;
To Live in Peace and Harmony with ourselves and with each other.

Ah, don't you see that Christmas is more than opening up the gifts;
It's more than singing Christmas Carols and rolling in big snow drifts.
It's a feeling that can stay with you throughout each day, all year;
And all it takes is a loving heart.....and a sensitive little tear.

A Prayer in Spring by Robert Frost

A Prayer in Spring by Robert Frost
OH, give us pleasure in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orcahrd white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
To which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends he will,
But which it only needs that we fulfill.

I have always liked this poem by Robert Frost. I pray it blesses you today - Praying for you - Don

Guardian of My Soul

My Grandmother used to send me poetry books. I love this poem by Doris A. Orth:
Dearest Jesus, Gentle Lamb,
Guardian of my heart and soul,
Please take me just the way I am,
And make my life complete and whole.

Give me strength enough to face,
The trials of tomorrow,
And faith enough to see me through,
The times of pain and sorrow.

Help me find a way to show,
Friends and loved ones that I care,
And a special part of every day,
For humble, earnest prayer.

And never let me be so blind,
Dear Jesus, that I cannot see,
"The very essence of my being
Is to live my life for Thee!"
You know I love ya - Don
